July Show: Wilderness to Gallery Exhibit at the Faulkner

This month-long show will benefit Los Padres ForestWatch, a community-based nonprofit organization that is leading efforts to protect the Los Padres National Forest and other public lands along California's Central Coast. Through innovative field work, scientific collaboration, and legal advocacy, ForestWatch works to preserve and restore the forests, mountain streams, rolling hills, wetlands, coastal areas, and wildlife of this spectacular area that we love to paint.

Ingathering: July 2, Saturday, 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Faulkner Gallery at Santa Barbara Library. The fee to enter will be $10 per painting or $25 for three. This will be a month-long exhibit (July 2 to July 31) featuring all media or styles -- landscape, portraits, figurative, architecture, interiors, still life, florals, contemporary, abstract and surreal, representing the diversity of our California wilderness ( No giclées or prints please).

Gala reception with Los Padres ForestWatch members, July 7, 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM to coincide with Santa Barbara First Thursday events. Come join us in celebrating! Refreshments, Music, Fun!

Call to artists: Volunteer Needed

A Volunteer who enjoys scrapbooking is needed immediately to work towards producing an album heralding the contribution of SCAPE for beneficiaries of SCAPE Exhibits. We have most of the last years’ postcards to include and any additional personal photos or news clippings that members have collected will be welcomed. There are brochures of our wonderful beneficiaries to be included that reinforce why we are painting for these non-profit agencies that protect the environment

SCAPE MEMBER BIO BOOK: Please update your BIO for the book that will be set out for the Phoenix and Faulkner Shows. Most postings are out-of-date and many artists have not posted their BIO. Members who are not current in paid annual dues through 2010 will be pulled from the BIO BOOK. This is a good resource to communicate who you are and ADDITIONALLY you may like to attach your BIO on a printout (8x11) on the back of your painting so that the BUYER will know more about you and enable them to contact you in the future.
