Hi Everyone,
This weather makes nocturne painting very appealing!

More changes on our S.C.A.P.E. board:
Wonderful Jamee Aubrey, who stepped in during recent transitions, is leaving the newcomers/hospitality position.  Thank you, Jamee, for all of your hard work getting us organized and for extending your friendly greetings to our new members!  Lucky for all of us, Wendy Altman has agreed to step in!

Many thanks also to Susan Brooks.   Susan has an impending move to Arroyo Grande so no longer will be with us as workshop chair.  Think back over the last few years, and you will realize Susan’s contributions - Hank Pitcher, bus trip to LACMA, William Wray and many more.  Susan’s enthusiasm and generous spirit will be sorely missed.

I am happy to announce that Kathe Hines is our new secretary. Welcome, Kathe, and thank you so much for desiring to contribute to our group’s efforts.

Our member get-together has been postponed until November due to summer travels.  We’ll be getting an e-blast out to you as to the dates and details.

Meg Ricks has worked hard on the UCSB Reserves show and it promises to be very special, so be sure to put it on your calendar and focus your painting time on preparing for the show. Filiberto and Jerry are getting some wonderful paint-outs organized. Watch for continued announcements.  See rest of newsletter for more details.

Gallery 113 invites S.C.A.P.E. artists to enter their October show benefitting the Environmental Defense Center.  Ingathering is September 30, 10 - 1.  Rick Garcia is the juror and featured artist.

While you are painting Santa Cruz Island think ahead for next year. Artists are invited to enter original artwork in any two-dimensional medium that reflects the beauty and uniqueness of the California islands. Cash prize awards.

Accepting Submissions: April 1, 2016 - July 1, 2016. Details for submission can be found at http://www.californiaislands.net/island-art-exhibition/
