Workshops(Click here to return to main workshops menu) Announcing a new SCAPE workshop by Marcia Burtt
Painting at the RanchTuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, December 5 7, 2006
A three-day acrylic workshop for artists of all skill levels (other media welcome) Learn to use acrylics outdoors while enjoying the unique weather that December brings--the late autumn of sycamores and willows turning color and the spring green of new grass. Marcia's 1200-acre ranch includes a California creek bed, a small pond, old sycamores and oaks, shale cliffs and low mountains. Marcia will focus on the technical aspects of using acrylics while emphasizing composition and intent. Workshop participants will stay in nearby Santa Maria (20 minutes away); lodging information will be sent upon registration. Vehicles with a high wheelbase are recommended; there are no accommodations for the physically handicapped. Through exhibitions with The Oak Group and SCAPE, MARCIA BURTT has helped raise hundreds of thousands of dollars to preserve open spaces. She has been artist-in-residence at Yosemite National Park and her work has been included in exhibitions organized by a number of museums. In 2005 she was judged to have the best painting by her fellow artists in the Sedona Plein Air Festival. She is frequently mentioned in art publications, most recently in the Winter 2005 issue of American Artist Workshop. To find out more about Marcia, see www.marciaburtt.com Note: You will be enrolled in the order your check is received. Cancellations made at least a month before the workshop begins will receive a full refund less $50; thereafter your tuition will be refunded only if your place can be filled. |
