"This class is about looking at options and making choices.  Through slide programs, painting demonstrations, lectures and critiques you will choose that part of the painting language that is most suited to your expressive intent. Bring your ideas and plenty of paint, paper, and enthusiasm." - Skip Lawrence

Skip is an East Coast watercolorist whose prize-winning paintings and appealing teaching style have made him one of the most respected and popular watercolor instructors in the U.S. today. He’ll show you that by making your paintings conceptual rather than perceptual they’ll be unique. If you have the good fortune to attend one of his workshops you will leave with much more than new painting techniques - your whole way of looking at the things around you will be enriched.

"By understanding color theory in the broadest terms, a painter achieves the joy of color freedom.  Freedom to be intuitive, experimental, and to use personal taste without making a fool of yourself.  By giving up local or perceived color and employing conceived color, every painter will personalize their paintings."

Nationally recognized painter, author, and teacher, Skip is renowned for his extraordinary work as a colorist.  Skip regularly has his work included in books, magazines and national publications, and juries national and international exhibitions.  Recently Skip received the High Winds Medial from the American Watercolor Society. He is the author of Painting Light and Shadow in Watercolor and is co-author and associate editor of Watermedia Focus and The Palette magazines.

For more information on Skip and to see more of his paintings go to www.skiplawrence.com.

Note: You will be enrolled in the order your check is received. Cancellations made at least one month before the workshop begins will receive a full refund less $50; thereafter your tuition will be refunded only if your place can be filled.
